Logan's Adventure
We went to the park today with some friends. There were three adults and we each have three kids. We also took an neighbor kid, so that was ten tots in all. The park was beautiful and had trails with a river twisting through. The kids played on the toys, but mostly rode their bikes together. We had a lovely picnic, went walking, and tried to feed some ducks who were too good for bread. They stuck up their bills and paddled away. We were just about to wrap up when Logan went flying over the bank into the river... on a bike. He can't swim, but he came up slapping the water and crying. I set the baby down in the dirt ever so not gently and kicked off my shoes (into the river no less) and pulled him out. He was trying to swim, sinking and bobbing, then he got some footing and was able to stand. The bike was completely under water, but we could see the wheel and Denise and I pulled it out. Denise waded in and got Logans floating loafer, and I got my shoes back too. Poor cold, wet, filthy, Logan asked to go back to Oklahoma. He had to go home naked. I could not figure out why Logan would do something like that, and then I realized he was not on his own bike. He and Ean switched bikes. Logan's has brakes, Ean's does not. Imagine his surprize when he headed down hill and the pedals kept spinning backward instead of locking the brakes. Woo there goes Logan.

Poor Logan, that's some adventure!
Stacey, I'm glad you phoned me first and gave me a heads up. I'm also glad I wasn't there, because I probably would have done something horrible like laugh first, help second! (you know how I am)
Logan, You pack you clothes honey, and I'll come get you and move you back to Oklahoma where we can ride tricycles!!! I didn't know they MADE bicycles with no brakes. Are you sure they weren't on the handlebars? I'm so thankful everyone is okay. I bet Kamdyn had never been that close to "dirt" before! Where was Kenzi during all this? Love you all,Aunt Karen
